Local Control Funding Formula Implemented Statewide
The LCFF, or Local Control Funding Formula, is part of the recent California budget approved in June. This monumental shift in how schools are funded gives districts more resources, local control, and flexibility to spend the money to best meet student needs. It also has many components that have still to be clarified. The LCFF is targeted to add $2.1 billion in funding for the 2013-14 school year. When fully implemented, the LCFF is targeted to increase California's education spending by $18 billion.
